Let me ask you some questions. Have you ever drunk water? Have you ever been in possession of a water bottle? Have you ever had the urge to drink water at school? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then this is the article for you! As a self-proclaimed water connoisseur, I will walk you through the best places on campus to source your water-drinking habit.
7. Commons’ water Now if this was a ranking of the best places to get ice on campus, The Commons would easily win as the best (and only) spot for ice. I and many other students dearly appreciate the access to the pebble ice, i.e. the superior type of ice. However, for the water at The Commons, I have to rank it the worst place on campus to get water. I find that the water tastes kinda rank for no good reason. In short, my review on the Commons water is: Good ice, terrible water.
6. Commons’ bathroom water refill station For being located in one of the stinkiest places on campus, the water refill station by the Commons first floor bathrooms is not surprisingly edible! And it’s also just not that good. The water rarely comes out colder than lukewarm and I swear I can taste just a tinge of bathroom aroma in the water as well. All in all, avoid if you can.
5. PAC Water refill station I’ve only used this water refill station a handful of times, so I don’t have so much to say about it. I’m sure it services the theatre kids of Westridge perfectly well, but the quality of this station has never been standout to me. Completely forgettable water, to be honest. This station would rank higher, but the inconvenient location for myself limits its ranking potential.
4. Front of Gym water Not to be confused with the water refill station near the nurse’s office, the water fountain in the front of the gym by the locker room entrance, places next on my favorite places to get water. This spot flies under the radar of a lot of students, and for good reason: The water refilling experience leaves a lot left to be desired. The water stream is so weak from this fountain it takes forever to refill your water bottle, and sometimes the water comes out with a little bit of a taste. However, this station redeems itself with the fact the water comes out crispy cold every time I’ve used it.
3. Mudd water refill station I’ve never been disappointed with the water from the water refill station by Mudd. Truly, it is serviceable, and I hope you all understand that is a huge compliment. There is little more water can hope to be than plain old drinkable. Consider the fact that I almost forgot this water station existed high praise. I have no complaints about this water station, do try it if you are seeking a perfectly inoffensive water drinking experience.
2. Back of Gym water I used to be a huge hater of this water station a few years ago. It was my absolute least favorite place to get water from, which was unfortunate as a student athlete. The water never came out cold, and frankly it tasted funky. Then, one year I returned to campus to find out that this water station had redeemed itself! The water is now cold every time I refill from there and the taste is crystal clear. The only points I can knock off from this water station is sometimes the water stream is kind of wimpy and it can take a while to refill my water bottle. But overall, a strong showing for my second favorite spot to refill on campus.
1. Main Hall water The top spot on this ranking list is reserved for none other than my favorite water refill spot on campus: the main hall water station. I could go on and on about how much I adore the water from the main hall, it’s literally life-altering. I could be stressed out from having two quizzes and an ICW in the same day, but Main Hall water would make my mood substantially better. When I’m sitting parched in the middle of a boring class, my mind wanders and pines for Main Hall water. It’s just that good. The water every time is icy cold and has an amazing clear taste more neutral than undecided swing state voters. Main Hall water is the closest I’ve ever come to tasting pure H2O, and that includes the time I accidentally drank some of Dr Udell’s distilled water during a Chem Lab. If you somehow have not already tried it, I strongly recommend Main Hall Water.
This concludes my objective ranking of every water refill station on campus. If I missed a water refill spot on this list, no I did not, and if you disagree with any of my rankings, you are wrong. I hope this article was useful to all you water drinkers on campus! Peace out, Budderball, PhD Water Fountain Studies and graduated Westridge student
