Carrot Fraud
by knee

My Thanksgiving break was productive, to say the least. I dabbled in procrastinating, slept a lot, and ate a lot of pie. Most of all, I learned some monumental news.

During the fateful Thanksgiving meal with my entire family (no, not chaotic at all), I learned that carrots don’t actually make your eyesight any better. Blasphemous.
This news puts me in a confusing position. In November of last year, I was prescribed glasses, mostly because I tried to convince my doctor I didn’t need them, but then proceeded to mistake the letter P for the number 4. So, I started wearing glasses. Did I hate them? Absolutely. Were they for my own good? Absolutely. Did I proceed to look for an out? Absolutely.
So, I became an avid carrot consumer. I was a proud carroter, unashamed, unbashful. The best part? I thought they worked so well, I incredulously stopped needing glasses in March of 2021. It was a big moment for me. Blindness had nothing on me. I was strengthened, unbeatable.
So now it will come as no surprise that I am, slightly confused. If it wasn't the carrots, how did my eyes get better?

Even if the news is scientifically true, I'm still pretty positive carrots help your eyesight. I will continue to not listen to my doctor and refute my own blindness.

Knee out.
