Now for the Fun and Exciting Rules, Expectations, and Instructions:
Submission Instructions |
Submission Restrictions |
You may submit art, videos, Google Slide presentations, ideas for articles or content, articles or content, comics, quizzes, crosswords, or photographs. You may also venmo us money. Please make sure your content is funny before you submit it so that we don't have to tell you it isn't funny because that would be ~unfortunate~
Please email your content (and any submission questions) to thursdetention@gmail.com. If your files are too big to send, please upload them to a drive, and send us the shareable link. Let us know if you would like your article to be published under a pen name!!! This is super important because if we don't know you want to be anonymous, we won't make you anonymous, and it's just that easy. Editing PolicyWhen you submit a written piece, we expect that you will be open to our editors making suggestions and contacting you about them. We won't change anything without you knowing, but we are committed to putting out High Quality Content (proper noun) because we want to be taken seriously for the satirical masterpiece that we are.
We will also assign your work a rating based on appropriateness (HS, MS, or LS). See our rating system here. |
Our goal here is NOT to trash Westridge. You may make fun of our school, but if your submission is particularly harsh, we may reach out to you and ask you to reconsider some of the language you use, or we might tell you we aren't the right platform for your content. The reason for this is that we want Thursday Detention to be sustainable, and facing disciplinary action for bullying is NOT the best way for us to keep this going for centuries to come.
You should be fine with your work being read or seen by anyone in the Westridge community, from 4th graders to administrators. That means (I'm talking to you): we want nothing above a PG-13 rating. I know it's hard to be ok with that. If you aren't, then we probably aren't the organization for you. If you are and WE aren't, we will kindly inform you that we aren't the organization for you. Please don't share the link to this with anyone who isn't a Westridge student or recent graduate. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!We couldn't do this without the hilarity and chaos that Westridge students bring to the table.
