Our Mission

Here at Thursday Detention, we hope to inspire joy and humor in Westridge students' everyday lives. Our goal is not to give you honest and transparent reporting (we suggest you check out Spyglass for that) but instead to bring Westridge's lesser-known.... eccentricity.... to light. Our Story

Our story started how they always do: with forbidden love. When Sosi, Sophia, and Caroline quit their jobs as corporate lawyers to pursue their true love for journalism, they thought it would be a brief hobby. That was 36 years ago.

Since our humble founding in 1988, Thursday Detention has grown in popularity. However, no matter our size, we will always be a family-owned business at heart.

Our Website

​Some important notes:
1.  Here is our system of rating appropriateness:
  • LS: G. Appropriate for all ages. No profanity, no violence, no suggestive content, nothing.
  • MS: PG. May include some bad language.
  • HS: PG-13. May include bad language, references to drug use, and/or references to Adult Activities.
2.  We promise to keep all our content to an HS (or PG-13) rating.
3.  Our plan is to release articles that won't be hurtful to any members of the Westridge community, but if anything we publish offends you, please contact us.
4.  Despite the claims we make on other pages of our website, we are not sponsored by any multi-billion dollar companies. Yet.
5.  Come back! We post new content every other Thursday, and maybe even more if you're lucky :)
6.  Share our website! If you like our content (and if you don't), please send the link to any Westridge student or recent alumnaeiou (this is the proper conjugation, regardless of what the Latin students will tell you).

Dedication

We would like to formally dedicate this project to the broken water fountain in PAC lobby. May he live the rest of his days in joy and in harmony with future Westridge students.
