*Legal disclaimer: I have no idea who named the states, I assumed it was George Washington, please don't sue me for defamation of character*
I will be turning 18 in two months, and I've decided that before I enter adulthood, I need to find answers to some of my most pressing life questions. First on the list: the states I just don't understand.
1. Nevada
I know where Nevada is on the map, solely because it looks like a trapezoid, that's all I know. I also thought Las Vegas was its own state for quite a long time. Other than Las Vegas, I have absolutely no idea what resides in Nevada. People? Rivers? Mountains? Mountain lions? I genuinely have no idea. Do people live there? Or is Nevada just a more southern Wyoming?
2. Idaho
Don't moose live here? Or just moss?
3. New Hampshire
In 17 years of living, I have never met a single person who had been to New Hampshire much less lived there. As far as I'm concerned, it's not a real state. You know how in Greek Mythology, the Sphinx will give travelers a riddle to solve in order to save their lives? Hypothetically, if a sphinx asked me what, where, or who New Hampshire is, immediately plan my funeral.
4. Maine
Definitely pretending to not be Canada. There is no way Maine is part of the U.S. They're all canadians. I know it for a fact.
5. Arkansas
I'm a firm believer that silent letters should not exist. Huge point deduction on that one. I'm also a firm believer that two states that sound the same, should be next to each other (See North and South Dakota). Why is Arkansas 600 miles away from Kansas? Irreparable mistake by GW.
