5 Calmeyer Costume Ideas

By: Pretty Kitty
Every year, DCal and his family walk the Halloween parade, donning that year’s spooky arithmetical costume. My heart aches as I see the smiles upon their faces, so glad to be together. I, as I’m sure many other students have, have always longed to be part of that beautiful family. I have always longed to be a Calmeyer.

Luckily, this year, Thursday Detention brings you a list of Costume Ideas for DCal and co. to have a happy Halloween! These are all costumes fit for his family with the charm of a mathematical pun, like all Calmeyer costumes hold.

1) Boss Bab e^-

Ah! What a refreshing costume. The critically acclaimed film Boss Baby receives nowhere near enough credit these days. This costume could easily be just the man himself, DCal, as Boss Baby with e’s approximation. Or any number of little Boss Babies could be added just like that!

2) BREAKing EVEN (Bad)
Picture
Oh, my! What a hilarious reference this is. A great way to connect with high school students. It does seem like perhaps this costume would benefit from one more person! In its current state, only one person dressed in... blue glitter... is good. But we’re not looking for good we’re looking for great. And there’s the break-even point pinned to DCal’s shirt... math pun yeah yeah.

3) Despicable MEAN
Picture
The perfect costume! Minion costumes are simple to make, easy to recognize, and a HIT with kids and teens these days! Despicable MEAN, hah! An ingenious pun if I do say so myself. The more minions the better with this one! If I were DCal, I’d go find a willing student, and I’d ASK THEM to be a part of my family.
…
Costume. Family costume.

4) CoraLINE OF BEST FIT
Picture
A lovely family costume! But, um, come on. No cat? You can BARELY tell what movie this is, hah. And little Junior on the right is doing a terrible job as Wybie. No button eyes, really? No commitment. My suggestion is to scrap the jacket and put cat ears on the kid, then find someone else to play Wybie. Someone who knows their stuff. Someone who cares. Someone who would be an enthusiastic Calmeyer Family Costume member! Maybe even someone with enough conviction to write a piece on it!

5) LIMIT King
Picture
Coming in at number 5, LIMIT king! Ah, see what I did there! Okay, woah. This costume is all sorts of off. An extra person is DEFINITELY needed. Even with that dog. Pumbaa with no Timon? Disappointing. Here is what I propose. I will take over and assign parts of this costume to each Calmeyer. Yes, good! And, just as a reward for being a good costume coordinator, I walk along with the Calmeyer family in the parade! Yes! And maybe even get invited over for trick-or-treating that night, for my good work! Yes, yes! YES!
