November Favorites

By:
2014 Bethany Mota inspired November Favorites List

No Nut November: A classic. Some may consider this a controversial take being a “favorite” of mine, but I believe the annual NNN is an inspirational test of willpower, key to a well-functioning society.

Groutfits: Dressing decked out in all gray has been my recent favorite way to display my emotional state (described by many as blank, cold, emotionless, dull, bland, boring, and horrific). Try pulling up to school next free dress in a head-to-toe groutfit and tell me it doesn’t feel incredibly fulfilling.

Property Brothers: Forever Home: An inspiring take on the classic Property Brothers storyline, where the juicy duo aids a couple in renovating their current home rather than purchasing a new home. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good brothers-to-lovers trope. Johnathan and Drew’s chemistry in this spin-off is incredible and electric, while this new twist on the original creates an enjoyable shift in the power dynamic. The Scott brothers never fail to get me in the mood to tap into my creative side, in fact, I’ve started writing DrewxJohanthan fan fiction! Great stuff Pro Bros!

Hand and Feet Masks: Feeling eeeexxtra dry this month? Grab yourself a pair of luxurious hand and/or feet masks from your local drugstore. The cool, slimy hug around your extremities is refreshing and provides some MUCH needed moisture during these chilly and barren autumn days. Highly recommend the animal-printed ones, I have found them significantly more effective.
These seasonal fall adjectives: punchy, chiseled, sheer swampy, squirrelly, wet, tidy, ghoulish, squeaky, crisp, chilly, chattery
Food pic sticky notes: Not really any good reason, I just have ones that have a pic of an egg on toast and it’s funny–also a good convo starter, great for popular loners such as myself.

Binging the 2016 Netflix original series Haters Back Off!: As I was completing my common app, I found myself feeling overtaken with anxiety about my future. In need of a nostalgic reality, I pressed play on the pilot episode of Haters Back Off! and was immediately transported to a simpler time as I felt the urge to don a pair of skinny jeans and perhaps a black choker. If you find yourself feeling lost or overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of current life, I would HIGHLY recommend a viewing of this classic series.

Australians: Contrary to previous TD material which has claimed our friends down unda’ “don’t exist”, I have found them to be a wonderful and rare grounding commodity in my life recently. Nothing hits quite like a good “hello ladies” or “g’day mate” at 8:40 am on a Tuesday. Thanks to our on-campus heroes Mr. Wood and Mrs. Amos for keeping things real, please know your service does not go unnoticed. Hooroo!
